It wouldn’t be a long weekend without a new @thecraftersbox project to keep me busy. This weekend it was this gorgeous paper eucalyptus wreath! I used my silver dollar eucalyptus add-on kit from @corriebethmakes to make this wreath, and added a few wooden bead elements from my @pocketfulofpaint wood bead kit from long ago. I happened to already have these items, but if you don’t you can buy this wreath kit in the holiday marketplace on @thecraftersbox website right now! I can wait to hang it on my door at home (here it is briefly gracing my parents’ door in CT before it starts to snow!) I also might be making a second one to perfect my technique... #cantstopwontstopIt’s that most wonderful time of year... holiday gift crafting! A few years ago I went down the rabbit hole that is seasoning salts, and made some epic salt gifts! I used a lot of fresh herbs that I’d grown myself on our hydroponic @towergardenofficial at school, plus all sorts of citrus zest, and other interesting seasonings. Swipe for a few examples! This first photo was the most gorgeous combo, lime zest and chili flakes, also pretty delicious! The most difficult was the jalapeño lime tequila, and I ended up making 3 batches, just so I could perfect the technique. The jalapeño kept turning the whole mixture brown! Maybe one day I’ll write a blog post about all the tips and techniques o discovered, for now if you have any questions I’ll be happy to help in any way I can. The glass containers came from @hobbylobby and I used chunky sea salt I bought in bulk from @webstaurantstore, both online. As I’m about to dive into Anne’s basket weaving @thecraftersbox I realized I don’t think I ever posted a finished photo of this gorgeous yarn bowl I made using her book! I used clothesline cord from a hardware store so it is super sturdy. I love the pretty braided look you get on the top edge! You can find more info about Anne’s book Weaving Within Reach on her insta @flaxandtwine and I think she sells kits to make these woven bowls on her website. It’s a super fun and easy project, perfect for a fall weekend!Fall is like the Goldilocks knitting season. Warm enough to knit outside but still cool enough that you WANT to knit outside. Fair warning, I will be spamming you with this knitting project for the next few days because holy crap I’m knitting a sweater and it’s not scary!! Also so far it’s knitting up so fast, I can’t believe how far I’ve come in just a few days. I’m almost about to split for the sleeves! I can not wait to try it on, and Basel can not wait until it’s too big for HIM to try on. He may have a doggy poncho in his future because he is so cute in this! (Totally joking, but he is pretty darn cute!) This is the Basic Colorblock Yoke designed by @knitatude as a @lionbrandyarn kit using their gorgeous chainette yarn. It’s 70% baby alpaca and so seriously soft. Winter just got a lot more snuggly!! I also love that the color palette matches the project bag I dyed with indigo from @thecraftersbox Crafting win! #knitatudefallcollectionkal #basiccolorblockyokeI’m knitting my first sweater! And no, it’s not for Basel, he’s just kindly modeling it since it’s not really at the wearable stage yet. I’m knitting the #basiccolorblockyoke from the @knitatude Fall collection with @lionbrandyarn. It’s going to be navy and cream, and I’m so super excited! It’s not only my first sweater, it’s also my first knit along and I’m loving the community aspect of a #kal already. Can’t wait to show off more progress! (And maybe graduate to a human model... though I’d hate to tell Basel he’s fired.) #knitatudefallcollectionkalSunday funday for sure this week with a workshop at @makeworkshop with the amazing Dani of @begoodnatured! Loving my toadstools. 🍄 I’ll post some progress shots in my stories.About Me
